LODinize is a desktop app that does its work on your computer. This page lists the few things that reach us, from the app and from this website, and what happens to them.

The LODinize app

  • On its first run, the Early Preview sends one request to www.lodinize.com with its version number. We use it to count installations by country.
  • Our server looks up the country from the IP address of that connection and adds one to a count for that day, version and country. That count is what we keep. The IP address is not saved with it.
  • If your computer is offline at that moment, nothing is sent, and the app does not try again later.
  • Your models, textures, animations, projects and exports stay on your computer.

Country lookup: IP Geolocation by DB-IP, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. The lookup runs on our own server.

This website

  • The site is plain pages: no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, and no scripts or fonts from other sites.
  • Our hosting provider, DreamHost, records each request in standard server logs (IP address, page, time and browser), as every web host does, including the app's first-run request. The logs are kept for security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically within 7 days.

Forms and email

  • The launch list and feedback forms are delivered to us by Formspree, which keeps a copy of each message in our account.
  • We use your email address to write to you about LODinize: the launch email, or a reply to your feedback. We never sell it or share it with other companies; Formspree only delivers it to us. Every launch email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us by email.
  • When you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as it helps us answer you.
